FAQ's

Is STB Remit regulated?

STB Remit is a trading name of Kanson Services Limited. Kanson Services Limited is registered by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Small Payment Institution under the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (Firm Reference Number 577170). You can check our details on the FCA Register at register.fca.org.uk. We are also registered with HM Revenue & Customs under the Money Laundering Regulations (registration number XCML00000218901).

Is my money protected?

Money you send with us is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). As a Small Payment Institution, we have not opted into the safeguarding requirements of the Payment Services Regulations 2017 (PSR 2017), so customers’ money is not held in a separate safeguarding account. This means that if we stopped trading, you might not get back money that had not yet been paid out to your recipient.

Why do you need my ID?

The law requires us to check the identity of everyone who sends money with us, to prevent fraud, money laundering and terrorist financing. We may also ask where your money comes from, especially for larger or frequent transfers. We cannot send a transfer until these checks are complete.

How much does it cost?

We always show our fee, the exchange rate and the exact amount your recipient will get before you confirm a transfer. You also get a receipt with these details after you pay.

How long does a transfer take?

Most mobile wallet transfers to The Gambia arrive within 10 minutes once your payment has cleared. Checks we are legally required to carry out can sometimes cause delays.

How do I make a complaint?

See our Complaints page for how to contact us, how long we take to respond, and your right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
